The Highway Bureau is committed to provincial highway engineering, highway transportation management and highway supervision, simplifying administration and facilitating the people. The business scope is divided into three categories: road engineering, road transportation and road supervision, providing convenient and safe services for the public.
Service Items

Inspection of Large Heavy-Duty MotorcycleInspection items and standards: According to Article 39-2 of Road Traffic Safety Regulations, (same for applications for license plate inspections, periodic inspections, and provisional inspections. 

  •  Engine or vehicle identification number should be the same as in the documentary proofs. 
  •  Effectiveness of front and rear brakes should meet the regulations. 
  •  Deviation between right and left sides of front and rear wheels should meet the regulations. 
  •  Various kinds of horns should meet the regulations. Horns with different tones should not be installed. 
  •  Lights should meet the regulations of Appendix 7. 
  •  Vehicle type and color should be the same as on the record. 
  •  Rearview mirror on the right and left sides and mudguards should meet the regulations . 
  •  All machine components are complete and function well. 
  •  Additional side car is forbidden. 

Required documentary proof and notes:

  •  Documentary proofs: 
    1. New motorcycle license plate registration form (duplicate receipt for owner).
    2. Vehicle registration.
    3. Motor insurance certificate (the period of valid insurance must be over 30 days).
  • Notes 
    1. Please ensure that all infringements for the compulsory insurance are cleared prior to inspection.
    2. Please go to our office or our authorized motor companies to apply for an inspection within one month before or after the inspection date specified on vehicle registration. If documentary proofs (for example, vehicle registration or license plates) of vehicles of other cities and counties are under suspension or cancellation, please go to the traffic violation arbitration institute or highways supervision authority where your vehicle is registered, to pay penalty fines and apply for inspection.
    3. Inspection fee: NT$ 200 .
    4. if the period starting from the manufacturing year has not reached five years, large heavy-duty motorcycles with license plates are exempted from periodic inspection. If the period is between five and ten years, an inspection needs to take place at least once every year. If the period is over ten years, an inspection needs to be conducted at least twice every year.
